Early learning opportunities increase
East Gippsland has a new kindergarten following the official opening of Foundations Early Learning Centre today.
The Early Learning Centre was officially opened this morning at a special event. Bairnsdale Christian Community School Principal Steve McAllister said the facility is providing a place for faith-based learning in the early years.
“Foundations Early Learning Centre is the first non-denominational Christian early childhood centre in East Gippsland, providing a great opportunity for children to learn in an engaging, caring, nurturing and safe environment,” he said.
“The centre opened its doors for the first time in late 2016 and with the addition of a separate three-year-old program this year, it is already proving popular among East Gippsland families.
“Children are encouraged to learn through play, with the indoor and outdoor spaces designed to maximise learning opportunities and fun. It is an excellent facility and I am delighted to be part of today’s celebration.”
The ELC is operated by Bairnsdale Christian Community School and enrolments are open to all families living in the area. Children have access to custom designed indoor and outdoor areas, including open access to the primary school facilities.
“Foundations Early Learning Centre has a fantastic team who are passionate about children and learning. They are partnering with families to provide the best possible care and education to each of the children attending the ELC. Families are encouraged to be involved in centre activities and are always welcome to visit,” said Mr McAllister.
“Having the ELC on the school grounds means that children have the opportunity to become comfortable in a school environment before taking the step up to attending big school. I look forward to seeing the centre continue to grow in the years to come.”
Foundations Early Learning Centre offers programs for both three and four-year-old children. If you would like further information, please contact the ELC on 0472 747 479.
