Increased spaces for four year old kinder

News Date: May 7th, 2018

Bairnsdale Christian Community School’s Foundations Early Learning Centre will be operating two four-year-old kinder programs in 2019 in response to increasing need in the Gippsland Community.

Principal Lynn Morrison said the decision is the result of much reflection.

“Our BCCS Educational Leadership and Foundations ELC teams have reviewed, audited and reflected on the learning programs, and community needs of our local area regarding the Early Years Learning services provided by our school,” she said.

“As a result of the review, the decision was made that in 2019 Foundations ELC will offer two four-year-old kinder programs instead of the single four and three year old programs it has run in 2018. We feel, this is the best way for us to continue to maintain and improve our services in this area of education for our families and broader community.”

Ms Morrison said that the BCCS Foundations ELC program is aligned with state and national Early Years Child Education aims which are designed to improve children’s skills in several key areas, and that parents provide great support to younger children.

“In many ways, activities such as day care, playgroup, toddler gym, toddler music, playing in the park and at home activities and playdates all contribute towards a child’s development and help prepare them for their future educational journey,” she said.
