Parents and Friends supporting learning
Foundations Early Learning Centre recently received several new games and learning tools purchased by the Parents and Friends Committee. The new items have been very popular with kinder children, forming part of the play program in both kinder groups.
Parents and Friends President Bronwyn Carroll said more than $4000 had been spent on items for both the Early Learning Centre and the School in recent weeks.
“The Parents and Friends Committee exists to support the school and early learning centre, to raise funds for resources and opportunities for enriching the learning environment,” she said.
“We have also added several games to the library resources including kinetic sand, Uno and other board games which students are making use of during lunch breaks.”
The Parents and Friends Committee hold several fundraisers throughout the year, including regular canteen days, Family Fun Day and Barbecue in the Mall.
The Committee is made up of volunteers from within the school community, and welcomes new members.
“It’s really rewarding to be part of this community, to see students across all year levels enjoying school and the help the Parents and Friends Committee is able to provide. It’s a great way to meet other parents and contribute to the school and early learning centre. I’d encourage anyone with an interest in our school to consider joining the committee - we welcome new faces and ideas,” said Mrs Carroll.
The next Parents and Friends meeting will be at the School on Monday, June 18 at 7.30pm. For further information, please contact us.
