Our Story

Bairnsdale Christian Community School has been serving families in the region for almost 20 years and has gained a great reputation for excellent education and a nurturing environment.

Driven by a group of Christian parents with a vision, BCCS opened its doors for the first time in 1998. We had one building, 37 students and 6 staff members.

The school grew and developed quickly. In 2000 two new classrooms and toilet block were added, followed by a further two classrooms 2004.

2005 saw us welcome our first Junior Prep Class. The program ran until 2016 and was a huge success and a valuable transition time for the students.

The grounds were given an upgrade in 2011 with the addition of an undercover Outdoor Learning Area and a brand new playground.

In 2016 we started the school year with four classes, a first in the history of our school.

2016 was also a milestone year in that BCCS was finally able to open a Kindergarten. This had long been a dream of the school and to see that dream become a reality has been a huge blessing for the school community.

Foundations Early Learning Centre opened in July 2016, welcoming both 3 and 4 year old kids into their brand new facility. The program replaced the Junior Prep Class.
